'Ard Boyz Prelims

Welcome to Pitched Battle. This is my inaugural post.

Last Saturday, three of us from our local gaming club drove up to Borderlands in Greenville, SC to participate in the 'ard boyz tourney.

This was the first Warhammer 40k tournament for all three of us. Overall, it was a great experience and lots of fun.

I have been building a Blood Angels army for tournament play based on the help and instruction of Jawaballs (check his blog out in the sidebar ->). As you all know, 'ard boyz is a big points value tournament. Since I have only been collecting and painting an Angels Sanguine army for about 3 months, I was a little restricted by the models that I own.

I decided to run Jawaballs list plus two five man Veteran Assault Squads and an Honor Guard with all the bells and whistles.

I acheived a massacre in the first game, but the 2nd and 3rd rounds were minor losses for me.

I finished 8th out of 16 guys in the tournament. All in all a fun day and a grand experience.

Round 1: Blood Angels, Lemartes Jump Pack DC and Terminators
Round 2: Imperial Guard List, Fleet Officer and Tanks
Round 3: Salamanders, an Atypical Vulkan list.
