Tactical Squad Repaint WIP

I had the opportunity to begin the repaint and re-base on my Tactical Squad.

However, I have put everything on hold as we are getting ready to go to the hospital for the birth of our child tomorrow morning. I have taken care of most things that need to be done here around the house in preparation.

So, I took a few minutes to give you this picture of the Tactical Squad work in progress. As you can see, I still have several stages left before completion. I hope to have the chance to get back to some painting and modeling next week.

As was the fad a bit back here in the 40k blogosphere, I have decided to post a picture of my workspace.

They look pretty good. I would suggest highlighting the black further (sorry if you haven't gotten that far), as it will look too dark. Black is hard to highlight well, but looking at your other stuff I'm sure you have a good idea of how to work it.

Thanks for the advice Kuffeh.

I really appreciate your reading and commenting.

I agree with you that black is hard to highlight. I find both extremes (pure black and pure white) to be the most difficult to shade and highlight.

No doubt about that. Black highlights can be too harsh - can be sorted by washing with black to dull the grey down; or use a more neutral colour like Kommando Khaki. For white, the general rule is that you should never paint all the way up to pure white - because then you have no way of highlighting. Using a light grey will still look white but allow for highlights.

And no problem, I am just getting into blogging like so and like reading other cool blogs I see. :)
